And I don’t want to do something that someone else already did before me. So no urban paper sneaker for me…. Till my girl bought a pair of PUMA sneakers: they are awesome!

So I just googled a little bit about for limited edition PUMA sneaker and it convinced me to do a papertoy PUMA sneaker.

My urban paper PUMA sneaker is loosely based upon PUMA First Round model (check the online shoe customizer: PUMA MONGOLIAN SHOE BBQ)

I’ve been asked to talk about this subject…… yeah this title is ohhh soooo original.

I though about it for a while (do I really want to make free advertising for a car company or a magazine?), but I couldn’t resist: Shin Tanaka is involved.
And that dude is cool!!

Shin is featured in an Asian/Amercan popculture magazine Giant Robot with a 3 piece robot: this image is the second one that can be found in Issue 57 of Giant Robot magazine.

Buy magazine 56, 57, 58 and you will have this:

I’ve been looking around in the stores in Amsterdam, but I haven’t found this magazine (yet). So I can’t build it and those who can’t build, write about it….

The same thing about Scion, this brand isn’t sold in the Netherlands (perhaps it is, but I don’t know about it, and I have never seen one).

But if Scion is happy with this post, and want to reward me, just give me a xB (no, really!!)

Ric pointed out to me that there is an update on the SPIKY BABY DELUXE SERIES from Shin Tanaka:

This is a special one, you don’t want to mis this series: the master himself is giving some new models away in this download.
Of course the SPIKY BABY are designed by some very talented designers, and you should check them out (see the links below), but I’m a fan, and the models Shin makes are really cool.

I have written about the paperToys book from Matt Hawkins before: it’s a book about the most talented paperToy designers in the world!

(and I’m part of that group )

Last year I was invited to joint a group of 24 of the most talented paper toy designers in the world. Matt Hawkins (you know him from his site Custom Paper Toys or his contributions to Paperforest) started a book which will be publish early 2009.

One of my favorite Nike is create in paper by Shin: the Nike Air Force 1 is created by Shin in paper and can be found on the internet:

Onitsuka Tiger

Shin also worked together with Onitsuka Tiger and created a template for
Onitsuka Tiger – Mexico66.

You can create your own Mexico66: just download the blank version here: Onitsuka Tiger – Mexico66 (.PDF).

This project has it’s own Flash site: http://shin.onitsukatiger.co.uk/.
And you can send in your customs on the same site.

Which was a good reason to visit Shin Tanaka site, and there it was: another cool papercraft project called BOXY (traveling over the world).

Shin wants custom designs for BOXY, but instead creating a downloadable link on his site (like Spiky Baby or Mask Hoody), the designer has to take a picture of his design and send it to Shin. He will put it on his site, and you will get your 15 minutes of fame….
