
{"id":514,"date":"2008-10-08T08:02:46","date_gmt":"2008-10-08T07:02:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.matthijskamstra.nl\/blog\/?p=514"},"modified":"2008-10-08T09:07:10","modified_gmt":"2008-10-08T08:07:10","slug":"custom-papertoy-flowerr-kidd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.matthijskamstra.nl\/blog\/2008\/10\/08\/custom-papertoy-flowerr-kidd\/","title":{"rendered":"Custom papertoy: Flowerr Kidd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.matthijskamstra.nl\/blog\/index.php\/2008\/10\/01\/custom-papertoy-wilsumm\/\">Another<\/a> custom (this is the first time I do this and probably the last) for <a href=\"http:\/\/thunderpanda.com\/wilson\/\">Wilson the Robot<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/thunderpanda.com\/\">Eric Wiryanata<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is a reaction to the custom Eric did (<a href=\"http:\/\/thunderpanda.com\/zombie-grumm\/\">Zombie Grumm<\/a>).<br \/>\nI explained in my previous post (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.matthijskamstra.nl\/blog\/index.php\/2008\/10\/01\/custom-papertoy-wilsumm\/\">Custom papertoy: Wilsumm\/<\/a>) why there are two customs:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>usually I create a skin in Illustrator<\/li>\n<li>print\/build the model<\/li>\n<li>see what needs improvements<\/li>\n<li>fix it in the Illustrator<\/li>\n<li>print\/build the model again<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This time I used the same method, but after I saw what improvements I needed to make (3), I also concluded that I&#8217;m creating the same &#8220;bad-ass&#8221; skin over-and-over again.<br \/>\nSo I created a new skin (yes, a sweet pink one) and made the improvements in that model and rebuild <em>that<\/em> model.<\/p>\n<p>Today I present: <strong>Flowerr Kidd<\/strong><\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"510\" height=\"383\" src=\"http:\/\/www.matthijskamstra.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/flowerr_kidd_promo_510px.jpg\" alt=\"Flowerr Kidd: a custom by Matthijs Kamstra\" title=\"Flowerr Kidd: a custom by Matthijs Kamstra\" class=\"size-full wp-image-539\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.matthijskamstra.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/flowerr_kidd_promo_510px.jpg 510w, https:\/\/www.matthijskamstra.nl\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/flowerr_kidd_promo_510px-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/>\n<div class=\"downloadbtn2\"><a href=\"#\" onclick=\"location.href='http:\/\/www.matthijskamstra.nl\/blog\/download-manager.php?id=26'\" title=\"Flowerr Kidd by Matthijs Kamstra aka [mck]: Zip size 0.5MB\"><strong>Flowerr Kidd by Matthijs Kamstra aka [mck]<\/strong> Zip size 0.5MB <span class=\"downloadnumber2\"><!--downloads(26)--><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The .ZIP file contains a .PDF<br \/>\n<em>(You can use freeware like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filzip.com\/en\/index.html\">FilZip<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.7-zip.org\/\">7zip<\/a> to extract a .ZIP-file and read a .PDF with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/products\/acrobat\">Acrobat<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxitsoftware.com\/pdf\/rd_intro.php\">Foxit<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This model is not complex to build, but if you need some help building the basic Wilson <a href=\"http:\/\/thunderpanda.com\/wilson\/\">visit the instruction page<\/a> (at the bottom of the page), but my customization you just need to analyze my photos. <\/p>\n<p>Wilson is a &#8220;doodle&#8221; (Eric used this to describe his model) papercraft and some parts don&#8217;t work like I want them to (the feet for example).<br \/>\nMy version doesn&#8217;t need duct tape to keep him standing: just put some weight in the feet before you glue it shut!
